The Frames – Neath the Beeches

Hand me down the picture Of you leaving unsaid I know how simple it get But sat by chance I need you Will you always be there And I will lie with you neath the beeches On the strand again I’m learning to hand it over To whatever Lord there be And in the same old colours I’ll be dressed for thee But it’s not about that though is it? It’s about you and me I hung your feet That famous painting above my bed And you told me a story About some guy who kept his head He drowned neath the Southport Near the pier where we stand And I will lie with you neath the beeches On the strand again

Marc Chagall (1887 – 1985) – Music by Maurice Sklar – Please read the Info and Watch in 480P

Marc Chagall, a Jewish Russian-French Painter and Artist, was born in 1887 to a poor Jewish family in Russia. He was the eldest of nine children… Chagall began to display his artistic talent while studying at a secular Russian school, and despite his fathers disapproval, in 1907 he began studying art with Leon Bakst in St. Petersburg… It was at this time that his distinct style that we recognize today began to emerge. As his paintings began to center on images from his childhood, the focus that would guide his artistic motivation for the rest of his life came to fruition… In 1910, Marc Chagall, moved to Paris .. It was during this period that he painted some of his most famous paintings of the Jewish village,… In addition to images of the Jewish world, Chagall’s paintings are inspired by themes from the Bible and developed the features that became recognizable trademarks of his art. Strong and bright colors began to portray the world in a dreamlike state. Fantasy, nostalgia, and religion began to fuse together to create otherworldly images… Marc Chagall was one of the greatest figurative artists of the 20th century.. Music by Maurice Sklar : ”Jewish Folk Medley” and ”Jehova Jireh” I hope you’ll enjoy Chagall’s paintings and Maurice Sklar’s violin .. Thanks for watching.. Comments are always very appreciated.. Love and Shalom….. Yael

Oil Painting (Saville) by K. Fitch 2009

This painting is a reproduction/study of a piece by Jenny Saville, 16″x20″. It’s about a 3-4 hour painting that’s for my painting II class. It’s oil on canvas and I used mainly a palette knife to paint with. I used a really small brush for some details and also a large brush for some blending. The video shows the process of producing the painting (the layers of underpaintings and the final painting).
